The Demétrius Integral Study Group (GEID) was created in 1956, based on mediumistic communications received in meetings held at the Ramasine family home, located at the time in the Tijuca neighborhood, in the city of Rio de Janeiro.

In 1989, through the efforts of Lais Vasseur Ramasine, her son Horácio Ramasine and a special group of friends, GEID was officially established, with its headquarters on the terrace of the family home on Ilha do Governador. GEID then established itself as a universalist Christian spiritist group, spreading the teachings of Jesus, Allan Kardec and Ramatís. Thus, its symbol (the circle, the triangle and the cross) represents the fusion of East and West, strengthening and propagating the true universalism of the New Age.

As a Christian-Spiritist institution, its activities involve social and spiritual assistance, as well as the dissemination of studies of the gospel and the Spiritist doctrine. All of this work is carried out daily, in a shared effort with its volunteers and beneficiaries, who believe in social and moral transformation through charitable work.

By assuming an integrative responsibility for the benefit of citizenship, GEID follows its purpose of being a space for the development of love for others and a focus of light for those who, uninformed, suffer from the illusions of material life.
